Short-form video editing for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts
UpToVision (UP2VISION), a studio in Weiden, Germany, offers short-form video editing for businesses: you send your raw footage, and we turn it into finished clips for Instagram Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts with captions, clean audio and motion graphics. We also edit longer videos for YouTube, LinkedIn or your website.

What makes a short video work
The first seconds decide whether someone keeps watching or swipes on. A good clip opens with the most interesting moment, not with a logo or a long hello.
Many people watch without sound, so captions are a requirement, not decoration. And each clip carries exactly one message – three short videos beat one that tries to say everything.
If you would rather hand over planning and topics as well, not just the edit, ongoing social media content is the better fit. For a single product in the spotlight, see product video production.

From raw footage to finished clip
Intro call
Goal, platform and style: what should the video do, and which examples do you like?
Send footage
You upload your original clips in full quality via a cloud link, not shrunk by a messenger app.
First cut and review
You watch a first cut via a review link and tell us what works and what does not.
Final files
You receive the clips in the right format for each platform, ready to upload – or to embed on your company website.

Formats at a glance
The common aspect ratios. Platforms change their length limits regularly, so we check them before every export.
| Format | Aspect ratio | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Instagram Reels | 9:16 vertical | reach new people, local customers |
| TikTok | 9:16 vertical | entertainment, behind the scenes, younger audiences |
| YouTube Shorts | 9:16 vertical | extra reach for the same footage |
| Feed video | 4:5 | posts in the Instagram and Facebook feed |
| YouTube and website | 16:9 horizontal | longer videos, explainers, website header |

What happens in the edit
Cut and pacing
Slow parts out, rhythm in. The strongest moment moves to the front.
Captions
Burned in, easy to read and spelled correctly in English or German – including product names and technical terms.
Motion graphics
Animated titles, labels, numbers and your logo in your brand's style.
Audio
Levels matched, background noise reduced, speech made clear.
Color
Clips shot in different situations are matched so they look like one piece.

Checklist: filming footage that edits well
Shoot vertically
If the goal is Reels or TikTok, film vertically right away. Cropping horizontal footage later costs picture area.
Light from the front
Face the window, not your back to it. Backlight is hard to fix in the edit.
Microphone close
When someone talks, keep the phone or mic close to them. Echo and noise are harder to remove than picture flaws.
Film more than you need
Hold every shot a few seconds longer and try several angles. Choice is gold in the edit.
Send originals
Share files via a cloud link instead of messengers that compress video heavily.

Frequently asked questions
What footage do you need to edit short videos for us?
Phone footage is perfectly fine as long as light and sound are decent. The more material you send, the more we have to choose from. Your logo and brand fonts help with titles and captions.
How do I send you large video files?
Via a cloud link, for example iCloud, Google Drive or WeTransfer. Messenger apps compress video heavily, and you will see that in the final clip.
Can I ask for changes to the edit?
Yes. You see a first cut and approve it before anything is final. Tell us what you do not like – the clip is only finished once you agree.
Which music can a business use in Reels?
Be careful with chart songs: business accounts often have a restricted music library in the apps, and unlicensed music can get a video muted or blocked. Royalty-free music or tracks from the official library for business accounts are the safe choice.
